Block and cylinder head return for AE86's 4A-GE engine

Toyota GAZOO Racing announced its plan to remanufacture the cylinder head and block subassemblies for the 4A-GE engine of the AE86 family on September 10, 2025. The study supports classic Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno owners to be able to use their vehicles.

Combustion chambers in the cylinder head receive additional processing, intake channels surface coating. The block uses an updated honing method, more rigid cast iron and a crank cover structure re-evaluated by simulation.

While the basic design was preserved, thicker walls and connections supporting transverse settlement were added to some sections. The first pre-orders are planned for the September 13–14 event at Fuji Speedway. The announcement is not a new car launch; Program for the resupply of discontinued parts.
