Toyota GAZOO Racing made the world debut of the GR GT and GR GT3 prototypes on December 5, 2025. The GR GT for road use and the race car derived from it, the GR GT3, are being developed in a joint program centered on driver needs.

In the GR GT, the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is combined with a single electric motor. At least 650 PS system power and at least 850 Nm torque are given as development targets in the statement; It is not presented as an exact homologation value.

A low center of gravity and a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout are among the main preferences. The placement of the rear transaxle and dry sump engine is done accordingly. The prototype demonstration does not mean that the completed production car is on sale.
