Toyota GAZOO Racing introduced the GR Yaris MORIZO RR prototype at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 9, 2026. The experience gained from the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours race, where Akio Toyoda also drove, was used in the development of the model.
Suspension and electric steering settings were re-evaluated according to the downforce produced by the carbon fiber rear wing. MORIZO traction mode initially uses 50:50 torque distribution for the front and rear axles.
In Japan, a lottery application for 100 vehicles was planned through the GR application in the spring of 2026. It was announced that 100 vehicles will be allocated to certain European markets. The announcement is about the special version being developed; No additional assumptions are made about the country distribution of limited quotas.
