The FJ series of the Land Cruiser family joined the 300, 70 and 250 series in Japan on May 14, 2026. Toyota explains the development goal of the new vehicle as a size and ease of use that will enable more users to reach the Land Cruiser experience.
The FJ features a ladder chassis, shortened wheelbase and suspension movement aimed at maintaining contact of the wheels with the ground. In the powertrain, the 2.7-liter gasoline engine is paired with a six-speed Super ECT transmission.
The square cabin, loading area and customizable accessories determine the practical side of the vehicle. The announcement is for the start of sales in Japan; It is not the same event as the October 2025 world launch. Toyota also announced its rollout plan for the trunk-portable Land Hopper, starting in spring 2027.
