Toyota has updated the Corolla Active Sport and Corolla Touring Active Sport models in Japan for the 60th anniversary of the Corolla family, which started in 1966. While the special editions were announced on May 12, 2026, anniversary editions were planned for Corolla Sport and Corolla Cross from the middle of the year.
In the same announcement, minor innovations were added to the standard Corolla and Corolla Touring, and a Corolla-based hybrid training car was added for driving schools. So the celebration wasn't limited to just a product change consisting of appearance packs.
It was stated that Corolla's total global sales exceeded 57 million units and is offered in more than 150 countries and regions. These figures show the historical scope of the series; The announced market for the special editions is Japan, and it is not assumed that the same hardware will arrive for other countries.
