Malthe Jakobsen took the Peugeot 9X8 to first place in the Spa-Francorchamps 6 Hours standings. The lap time achieved by the Danish pilot with car number 94 was recorded as 2 minutes and 0.653 seconds.
This result is Peugeot's first pole position in the WEC since its return to endurance racing in 2022. His teammate Stoffel Vandoorne started ninth in car number 93.
Jakobsen qualified for Hyperpole despite spinning on cold tires on the opening lap of the first qualifying session. The last session, completed with new medium compound tyres, turned into a new sporting threshold for the team after the initial disruption.
