Nissan announced the ADventure research project on September 27, 2026. The study, to be conducted in Cambridge, will examine how services, as well as autonomous vehicle technology, can be embedded in the local transport network and people's actual journeys.

Nissan Technical Center Europe engineers will lead the project. Accessibility and social benefit will be evaluated together with local governments, passengers and residents; WMG and PAVE UK are also participating in the collaboration.

The budget of the consortium, supported by the UK's CAM Pathfinder programme, is £3 million. Cambridge was chosen as the first real environment trial. This is a research announcement; It does not mean that a publicly available, driverless commercial service is operational nationwide. Trial findings will be required for dissemination.
