Opel has announced its new mobile charging approach for the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup. The system aims to increase race kilometers with independent charging solutions that can be quickly installed at suitable points between special stages.
The system called remote charging does not keep the energy connected to the fixed service area. Thus, the organization can plan the relationship between the stage route and the energy requirements of electric vehicles more flexibly.
Offering up to 281 hp, it was announced as the first implementation target for the Mokka GSE Rally to complete the entire special stage distance in Rallye Weiz. Opel cites reducing logistics effort as another justification for infrastructure development.
