Nissan announced on August 5, 2026 that the Qashqai e-POWER received Guinness World Records title for its long-distance trial in Colombia. The journey from Bogotá to the Caribbean coast reached 1,980 kilometers with a single tank between 14 and 17 July.
The manufacturer reports that the trial was monitored and verified by Guinness judges. The category is defined as a non-plug-in range extender electric SUV ride without external charging or refueling.
In e-POWER, the electric motor rotates the wheels while the gasoline engine produces electricity. The record is a result of the specific route and driving conditions; It does not mean that every user will reach the same range. The current system combines the engine, generator and power electronics in a five-component module.
