Volkswagen Classic brought two first-generation cars to the Bremen Classic Motorshow for 50 years of the Golf GTI. The exhibition covers the dates January 30–February 1, 2026. One of the cars is Mars Red, produced in 1979, and the other is Brilliant Black, produced in 1983.

The black car is shown with traces of use from the LeJog classic rally in Britain. The route runs from Land's End to John O'Groats; The approximately 2,400-kilometer route is reported as an endurance event completed in four days.

The Volkswagen file reminds that the first Golf GTI came to the market in 1976 with an 81 kW, that is, 110 hp engine. The two display vehicles juxtapose a preserved road car and a used rally car. The data are from historical examples; It's not a technical trailer for a new GTI.
