Volkswagen Mission Efficiency was introduced as an efficiency concept using front-wheel drive MEB+ technology. The prototype, which is not available for sale, uses a solar panel, rim guides and a low-drag oriented body. The declared air resistance coefficient is 0.158.

The manufacturer quotes the 1,278.36-kilometer consumption drive from Wolfsburg via Poznań and Olomouc to Vienna. The average speed on this route was 67.72 km/h; Consumption including charging losses was reported as 7.51 kWh/100 km.

When charging losses are excluded, the value drops to 6.89 kWh/100 km. Therefore, the two figures do not represent the same scope of measurement. This news reports the manufacturer's documented test description; It should not be interpreted as an independent comparison of different vehicles under the same conditions.
