BMW i3 was announced as the second model of the Neue Klasse family and the fully electric sedan of the new 3 Series. The first announced 50 xDrive version has an electric motor on the front and rear axles.

BMW announces 345 kW system power and 645 Nm torque; The technical values ​​in the first announcement are marked as provisional. The sixth generation eDrive, 800 volt architecture and the new battery pack with cylindrical cells form the basis of the electric layout.

Panoramic iDrive takes care of the cabin interface, and Heart of Joy takes care of the coordination of driving dynamics. The vehicle was announced with Vehicle-to-Load, Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid functions. Relevant hardware, infrastructure and service conditions also apply when using these functions.
