Opel announced that the design, development and production center of the new generation Astra will be Rüsselsheim. The upcoming compact model will use Stellantis' STLA ONE platform and will be produced at the brand's main facility in Germany.
The company plans to introduce at least four new models by 2030. These products include the new generations of Astra and Corsa and the new C SUV announced as part of the Leapmotor partnership.
The total investment plan in Germany is over one billion euros by 2030. The new grEEn-campus headquarters built in Rüsselsheim is part of the same industrial program as production and product development commitments.
